Industry groups to design new school subjects replacing NCEA

The government has asked industry groups that oversee job training to design nine new subjects for older high school students, including tourism, construction, and energy. The subjects will be available from 2029 under new qualifications replacing NCEA, the national secondary school system. It is the first time industry groups have helped design school subjects.
