US Plans to Shut Five Offices Abroad to Save Money

The US government told Congress it plans to close five offices abroad — in Grenada, Japan, Indonesia, Cameroon, and Canada — to save money. Eight more closures in Africa and Europe are proposed. This follows Secretary Rubio firing over 1,300 employees last year. More than half of 195 top diplomat jobs remain empty.
