WindBorne's new weather forecast model learns from 600 flying balloons

WindBorne Systems launched WeatherMesh-6, an AI weather forecast model trained on data from roughly 600 unmanned balloons flying from 20 sites worldwide. Each balloon collects about 50 snapshots of the atmosphere from ground to high altitude over flights lasting weeks. Traditional weather balloons gather one such snapshot. The U.S. National Weather Service already buys this data.
