WindBorne launches WeatherMesh-6, fed by 600 autonomous balloons each yielding 50 vertical profiles per flight

WindBorne Systems has launched WeatherMesh-6, a deep learning forecast model trained on data from roughly 600 autonomous balloons flying from 20 global sites. Each balloon collects about 50 vertical atmospheric profiles over multi-week flights, versus one profile per two-hour flight from a conventional radiosonde. The U.S. National Weather Service already purchases WindBorne's data.
