Gaza's Ceasefire Has Not Stopped the Killing
A ceasefire — a deal to stop fighting — began in Gaza in October 2025. Since then, Israeli strikes have killed over 1,250 Palestinians, including at least 26 on August 2–3, 2026. Total deaths now top 73,000 since October 2023. Five Israeli soldiers have died too. Talks to strengthen the truce are stuck over whether Hamas gives up weapons and Israel pulls out.
