Thousands sign petition against proposed Pegasus housing development

A developer, Wolfbrook, wants to build up to 1,000 homes on Pegasus Golf Course in Canterbury, which it bought cheaply after the previous owner defaulted on their loan. More than 16,000 people have signed a petition against it. Local National MP Matt Doocey and Mayor Dan Gordon both oppose it. Gordon has written to the minister responsible, Chris Bishop, asking him to turn it down. Officials are still reviewing the application.
