Doctor Referral Rules Miss Most Young Women Who Get Breast Cancer

A UK study found that NHS referral guidelines miss up to 95% of women under 50 who later develop breast cancer. The rules ask doctors to check family history first, but 73% of these women have none in their family. Researchers want NICE, which sets the guidelines, to consider these findings in its current review.
