PM keeps Winston Peters as minister despite racism claims

Prime Minister Christopher Luxon says he will not fire Foreign Affairs Minister Winston Peters over comments widely called racist. Luxon told voters who are upset to support National at the next election. Three of his own MPs — Vanessa Weenink, Nancy Lu and Maureen Pugh — called the comments racist or ill-conceived. None said whether Peters should lose his job.
