
Snap's AR Glasses Won't Reach Most Consumers Until Late 2020s, CEO Says
Snap CEO Evan Spiegel told investors on August 3 that the company's $2,195 augmented reality glasses — which overlay digital images onto the real world — won't catch on with mainstream buyers until near the end of the decade. He said the devices need to become lighter and cheaper first. A launch event is set for September 2026.
