Pacific Island Nation Nauru Gets a New Name

Lawmakers in Nauru, a Pacific island with 12,000 residents, voted to change the country's name to the Republic of Naoero. They changed the law instead of holding a public vote. Citizens will now be called dei-Naoero. President David Adeang said it brings "renewed national pride."
