Hungary Turns Off Its Only Nuclear Power Plant as River Runs Too Low

Hungary shut down most of Paks, its only nuclear plant, because the Danube River hit record lows. Power plants use river water to keep from overheating — and there isn't enough. It's the first time in 44 years drought forced this. A full shutdown is expected within days. The prime minister warned "the hardest five days are ahead."
