NZ First wants to pay families $5,000 a year for each new baby
NZ First leader Winston Peters wants to give families $5,000 a year for each child's first three years, up to three children. One parent must be a New Zealand citizen. The party says it would cost $400 million over three years from money already in the budget. Peters says Aotearoa's population is falling. ACT's David Seymour said paying people to have kids hasn't worked overseas.
