Sightseeing Plane Crashes at Peru's Famous Nazca Lines, Killing 13

All 13 people aboard — 11 passengers and two pilots — died on 1 August 2026 when a small tourist plane crashed over the Nazca Lines, ancient giant designs carved into the ground in southern Peru. The plane, run by a local company called Aerodiana, had taken off from the city of Ica. Authorities are investigating but have not yet said what caused the crash.
