Senate committee pushes for better deal for LGBTQ+ veterans forced out of the military

The military banned gay members until 1990. Many LGBTQ+ people weren't charged with a crime — they were just forced out or made to quit. Now a Senate committee says the government's plan to fix this is too narrow. It wants their records corrected and their service properly recognised.
