Senate committee urges wider remedy for LGBTQ+ veterans pushed out of the ADF without conviction
A Senate committee report released on 31 July 2026 says the government's draft bill to extinguish historical service offences doesn't go far enough. The committee wants restorative outcomes, record annotations, and certificates of honourable service for those affected by the ADF's discriminatory policies, which banned homosexual members until 1990.
