Wildfire Burns Near Suffolk Nuclear Power Station

A large wildfire on Dunwich Heath, declared 30 July, burned about three miles from the Sizewell B nuclear power station — a facility that generates electricity using nuclear reactions. Suffolk Fire and Rescue said the plant was not in danger. EDF, which runs the station, said operations were unaffected and it was watching closely. The fire was moving away from the site.
