Rent dispute cases to be heard faster under new trial

The government's housing agency will trial faster hearings from August for renters or landlords who want to end a tenancy over unpaid rent, or serious health and safety issues. Unpaid rent made up over 60 percent of tribunal applications last year, RNZ reported. People currently wait 48 days on average for a first hearing.
