Google will soon tell apps your age range so individual apps don't have to

Google is testing a tool that lets Android apps ask Google for your age range — one of four groups from 0–12 up to 18+ — instead of each app checking your age itself. Your exact birthday is never shared. It's live in Brazil, reaching Australia and Canada in August, worldwide by year-end. Parents control it through Family Link.
