Google Play Age Signals API beta shifts age-verification burden from apps to Google's platform
Google launched a beta of its Play Age Signals API, letting Android developers request a user's age range directly from Google rather than building their own verification. The API returns one of four brackets — 0–12, 13–15, 16–17, 18+ — with no birthdate transmitted. Testing in Brazil now, expanding to Australia and Canada in mid-August, global by year-end. Parents configure sharing via Family Link.
