Body that reviews possible wrongful convictions wants tougher rules on eyewitness evidence

A body that investigates possible wrongful convictions has sent Parliament a report asking for stricter rules on eyewitness evidence. Chief Commissioner Denis Clifford led the inquiry — the Commission's first broad investigation. Nearly one in five cases it received over five years involved someone being wrongly identified. Three recommendations have gone to Justice Minister Paul Goldsmith.
