Wildfires Force 300,000 to Flee Homes in France and Spain

Since mid-July 2026, huge wildfires in France and Spain have forced over 300,000 people to leave their homes. In France, two firefighters died fighting flames near Bordeaux on July 21, and over 100 houses burned. In Spain, fires threaten 211 areas across fourteen regions. The fires are still not under control, and another heatwave is coming.
