About 300,000 Haitians lost a program that let them live and work in the United States after the Supreme Court let the Trump administration end it. The program protects people from countries hit by disaster or war. It ended July 27, 2026. The government said Haiti is safe enough to return. It started after Haiti's 2010 earthquake.
