New law changes how your holiday and sick leave works

Parliament has passed a new law scrapping the old Holidays Act 2003. Your annual and sick leave will now build up in hours, not days. You can take leave from your first day on the job and sell back 25% of your holiday leave for cash. Employers have two years to get ready. Labour, the Greens and Te Pāti Māori voted no.
