Wikipedia's parent organization wants employees to vote on whether to form a union

Wikimedia Foundation said July 27 it wants employees to vote by secret ballot on whether to unionize, rather than recognizing the staff union on its own. The union called this "union-busting" and will file for a formal election. UK staff announced union plans in June; in May, volunteer editors threatened to strike over a disbanded engineering team.
