New PM Burnham opens a Manchester office called "No 10 North"

New prime minister Andy Burnham is using a Manchester office as well as his official Downing Street base, the BBC and PBS NewsHour reported. He has called it "No 10 North" — a first in modern British government. Burnham spoke to staff there on 24 July 2026. His first TV interview as PM airs on BBC News on Sunday.
