Cairngorms Wildfire Still Burning After Over a Week

A wildfire in Scotland's Cairngorms hills has burned for over a week. Police called it a major incident on 15 July 2026 after wind changes made it worse. A new burst of flame on 23 July showed it was not under control. Over 500 firefighters helped fight it. Smoke reached Aberdeen, 90 km away. It was still burning on 25 July.
