Alphabet Plans to Spend Far More on AI Than Experts Expected

Alphabet told investors in February 2026 it would spend $175–185 billion on equipment and facilities, far above the $119.5 billion analysts expected. Its July 22 report showed $44.9 billion spent in Q2 alone — on track for the middle of that range, nearly all on AI infrastructure.
