Xbox Tests Free, Ad-Supported Game Streaming Before Console Price Increase

Microsoft started testing free, ad-supported game streaming for Xbox Insiders on July 23, 2026. Users stream games they own without a console, but sessions stop after one hour and ads play first. The test comes days before Xbox prices rise over $100 on August 1. Microsoft says this lets older Xbox owners play newer games without buying new hardware.
