Lower Hutt mayor says yes to combining Wellington councils

Lower Hutt mayor Fauono Ken Laban supports a plan to combine Wellington's separate councils into one large council. He told RNZ's Morning Report he backs the idea but "can't speak on behalf of the other mayors." Talk about merging the region's councils restarted in 2024 over water and rates problems.
