MP asks for Parliament memorial to Ann Widdecombe as police investigate her death
Conservative MP Helen Grant has asked the Commons Speaker to support a memorial to Ann Widdecombe, who served as an MP for 23 years. Grant took over Widdecombe's seat in 2010. She said a memorial would highlight the threat violence poses to democracy. Specialist police are treating the 78-year-old's death as a targeted attack. A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
