Government left with thinnest possible majority in new poll

The coalition government holds 61 of 120 Parliament seats — the fewest needed to pass laws — an RNZ-Reid Research poll of 1000 people (2–9 July) found. National sat at 28.7%, its lowest under leader Christopher Luxon. One by-election loss or MP leaving could cost the government its majority.
