Starmer picks 26 new members of the House of Lords before leaving office

Sir Keir Starmer nominated 26 new peers — members of the House of Lords, Parliament's upper chamber who review laws — just before stepping down as Prime Minister on Monday. London Mayor Sir Sadiq Khan is among 16 from Labour. The list also includes five Liberal Democrats, three Conservatives and two independents. Reform UK got none. Downing Street called them "political peerages."
