No answer yet on who pays for climate adaptation

The Government has delayed deciding how to share the cost of preparing for climate change between central and local councils until after the next election. Climate Change Minister Simon Watts said it was "simply not at that point." Some councils say they cannot afford it alone. Opōtiki's mayor says his council "may not even survive."
