Government Borrowing Rates Hit Two-Month Low on Early Midterm Results
The two-year U.S. Treasury yield, the rate on government debt, fell to 4.546% in Asian trade Wednesday, a two-month low, as early midterm results pointed to a Democratic sweep. When bond prices rise, yields fall. The 10-year fell 6 basis points (hundredths of a percentage point) to 4.906%, Reuters reported. The two-year later edged up, still 0.8 basis points lower.
