Anthropic Launches Claude in India but Misses the Payment Method Most People Use

Anthropic is now letting Indians pay for its Claude AI in rupees—roughly $21 a year. But it won't accept UPI, a digital payment system that 500 million Indians use daily. You still need a credit card. OpenAI's ChatGPT already accepts UPI. Since most Indians use phones to pay rather than cards, Anthropic may struggle to win customers.
