Leaders of Weil, Gotshal & Manges, a law firm, are discussing a plan to close it in an orderly way after merger talks failed, the Wall Street Journal reported October 28. No decision has been made. Senior partners keep leaving, and the firm has hired Brian Resnick, a Davis Polk partner who specializes in bankruptcy, to advise on options.
