Trump Calls EU Associate Membership Offer to Canada 'Laughable'

US President Donald Trump called the EU's proposed associate membership for Canada 'laughable' and said the US might stop trading with Europe 'on many things' if he viewed the move as a 'hostile act'. Associate membership is a formal tie short of full membership. The EU has since backed away from the offer, the Guardian reported.
