Weil Gotshal Hires Bankruptcy Lawyer as Contingency Plan

Weil, Gotshal & Manges has hired Brian Resnick, a senior bankruptcy lawyer from Davis Polk, to advise on options if its troubles keep worsening, the Wall Street Journal reported October 27. This is a contingency plan, not a debt reorganization already underway. The hire follows months of partners leaving and the end of merger talks with a rival.
