Microsoft's AI Panel Gets 83% of Hard Medical Cases Right in a Test, Doctors Get 36%

Microsoft's MAI-DxO, a system of several AI programs that work together like a panel of doctors, was correct 83% of the time on complex New England Journal of Medicine cases in a simulation. Primary care doctors and general internists working alone with reference materials were correct 36% of the time. Microsoft announced the results on October 22, 2026.
