Google Maps Gets a Talking Gemini AI in Your Car

Google brings Gemini, a talking AI, into Google Maps on Apple CarPlay, which shows phone apps on car screens. US drivers get it from October 21, 2026. A Gemini icon, bottom right, opens voice chat for requests with several steps, such as finding a place and avoiding toll roads. The global rollout may take a few days per device.
