Google Brings Conversational Gemini to Google Maps on Apple CarPlay

Google has begun rolling out conversational Gemini in Google Maps for Apple CarPlay, available to US drivers from October 21, 2026. A Gemini icon at the bottom right of the Maps screen opens a voice session for multi-step requests, such as finding a place and routing around tolls. Google says the global rollout may take a few days per device.
