DeepSeek Will Start Charging for Web Search Tools

DeepSeek will start charging for two tools that let apps look up and pull in web information, starting midnight Beijing time on November 1, 2026. The cost is $0.75 for every 1,000 uses of each tool. They are free until then. Web lookups are billed on their own, not as part of AI text processing.
