Switzerland plans safer online rules for children

Switzerland's Federal Council plans to stop communication platforms, such as social apps, showing children ads selected from their personal information. Announced 14 October 2026 as part of changes to the proposed platform law, the plan also widens reporting of all suspected illegal material. The department DETEC must write the formal proposal by end-2027.
