Amex Check Stops Unwanted AI Purchases

American Express on Oct. 13, 2026 introduced a new check to stop AI shopping helpers from buying without permission. Like a shopping list that notes the store, spending limit and preferences, the system writes down the plan, then asks you to confirm it. Amex hopes other companies adopt the same check for AI shopping.
