Main highway near Kawakawa slows to 80km/h again

The speed limit on SH1, the main highway just west of Kawakawa, is back to 80km/h from Monday, NZTA, the transport agency, says, just over a year after it was raised to 100km/h. AA Northland chair Tracey Rissetto said drivers will be confused and some may be fined, as a speed camera placed there in 2024 is still in place.
