Kansas Republican Sen. Roger Marshall paid Hutchinson bakery Holly's Sweet Treats $1,300, twice the $678.75 owed for a 2020 vote to pick his party's candidate watch party, unpaid six years. He paid after owner Holly Thomas's Oct. 8 post spread fast online. Running to keep his job, Marshall said he had no idea how it happened and tried to apologize.
