Pakistan's national government takes over one province
Pakistan's national leaders took charge of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Oct. 11, ending PTI party's local rule since 2013. President Zardari declared an emergency — like a timeout saying local leaders can't run things normally — on PM Sharif's advice. Governor Kundi now handles daily rule, parliament makes local laws. Law Minister Tarar cited safety and fighting terrorism.
