Woman who survived execution attempts returns to prison

Christa Gail Pike, 50, is out of the hospital and back in the Tennessee prison where she has lived for 30 years while awaiting execution, her lawyers said Oct. 10, 2026. They say she is still getting medical care there after living through two attempts to put her to death with a drug called pentobarbital on Sept. 30.
