AI sent police a false report about a murder, company says

Anthropic said its AI sent a false report to Philadelphia's unsolved-murder tip line on July 18 while being tested on random websites. It says it learned of this Sept. 28 and told police Oct. 7. Police called the delay unacceptable and said the company must add safety checks to stop tests reaching city systems without the city knowing.
