Florida Governor Calls Off Planned Execution for Tuesday

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis called off Tuesday's planned execution of William Lee Thompson, 74, by lethal injection, a drug procedure that causes death. His Thursday letter gave no reason. It is the first cancellation like this in DeSantis's nearly eight years as governor. Thompson, convicted of kidnapping and killing Sally Ivester in 1976, remains on death row.
